SEO Service FAQs

What's Best - SEO or Google Ads?

They both work, and bring in targetted traffic. In an ideal world any business would want two or three spots on page one of Google – one in the Ads, one in Maps, one in the organic listings. I don’t see them as competition. It all comes down to what works best for your business right now, and where you want to be in the next 6 months. That’s why I always recommend we have a chat, that way I can give you some ideas that may help you get clear on what will be most effective for your business.

Having said that, if I had no immediate pressure and had to choose one it would be SEO traffic. SEO traffic is often called “free” traffic because you don’t pay directly for the visitors to your website. And, there are no limits to what you can rank for.

With paid traffic you are bidding on certain keywords, so you miss out on a huge amount of potential traffic. Also, you are limited by budget – once your ads budget is spent for the day you don’t get seen by anyone until the next day.

But the biggest benefit I see is that a correctly done SEO campaign will build the authority of your domain in the eyes of Google and they begin to trust you more. Your website begins to rank for many search phrases (way more than you could probably get if you were paying for ads), and you become an authority in your industry. You’ve probably seen that – certain sites keep showing up for searches in certain industries or topics. That’s authority; SEO can get you that, but paid ads never will.

An authoritative website, that is trusted by Google, is a major asset as part of your business.

How Will I Know If The SEO Is Working?

At the beginning of your SEO campaign I will spend time doing keyword research. This helps me see what terms your potential customers are typing in Google. Many of these will be obvious, but I always manage to find some “gems”. I then check and see what position your website is currently ranking for these terms on Google, and the level of competition. We agree what keywords we will be going after and those are what I work to improve your site’s visibility for.

I then add these search phrases to a rank tracking software, which monitors where your website is appearing for the terms. I keep a daily eye on this, and every Monday morning you will receive a full report showing where your website is ranking, and you will be able to see the progress.

Ultimately, however, SEO is all about getting more (and the correct type of) traffic to your website. Assuming your website is attractive to visitors, you will see an increase in telephone calls, contact form and email enquiries, and footfall (if you have that kind of business).

How Long Does SEO Take To Work?

It depends where you are currently ranking, the strength and relevance (from a Google-perspective) of your domain and website, and the level of competition you are up against. Given how individual it is that’s why I recommend getting in touch so I can do a quick audit (at no charge). This gives you a picture of where you are and what you can realistically expect, and how long it will take.

Having said that, I normally see positive movement for my clients within the first few weeks of a campaign, but typically with SEO you are taking in timeframes of months to get solid and stable rankings. But, it is totally worth it. If you can rank highly and stay there it can positively transform (and protect) your business. I have seen it many, many times over the years.

Why Use SEO To Help Your Business

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) has become an essential aspect of digital marketing for local businesses. In today’s highly competitive online landscape, having a well-optimised website can significantly attract customers, generate leads, and increase overall visibility.

Leveraging SEO offers a plethora of benefits for local businesses, and partnering with an experienced SEO service company can amplify these advantages and deliver the best value and results on Google.

The primary benefit of SEO for local businesses is increased organic traffic to their website. By optimising their website with relevant keywords, local businesses can improve their rankings on search engine results pages (SERPs).

When potential customers search for products or services related to the business’s offerings, a higher rank in the search results enhances the chances of organic clicks and website visits. SEO also focuses on creating valuable, user-friendly content, which can further boost engagement and encourage visitors to explore the site, potentially converting them into loyal customers.

One of the reasons local businesses should opt for an SEO service company is the expertise and knowledge these professionals bring to the table. SEO is a dynamic field that requires constant updates and a deep understanding of search engine algorithms.

SEO experts are well-versed in the latest trends and best practices, ensuring a local business’s website stays relevant and visible in the ever-changing digital landscape. By leaving SEO in the hands of experts, companies can concentrate on their core operations while trusting that their online presence is in capable hands.

Additionally, SEO service companies conduct in-depth keyword research to identify the most relevant and high-traffic keywords for a local business. This meticulous approach ensures that the business’s website appears in front of users actively searching for its products or services, increasing the likelihood of attracting genuinely interested customers.

Besides traditional SEO, local businesses can benefit from appearing in Google Maps with their Google Business Profile. A Google Business Profile provides crucial information such as the business’s location, contact details, hours of operation, and customer reviews.

Google Maps often lists nearby businesses when users search for a specific product or service in their local area. An optimised Google Business Profile enhances the chances of being featured prominently in these local search results.

By leveraging the expertise of an SEO service company, local businesses can ensure that their Google Business Profile is not only accurate but also optimised to stand out from the competition. Positive reviews, high-quality images, and relevant information can all build trust with potential customers and encourage them to choose the business over competitors.

SEO is a powerful tool for local businesses seeking to improve their online visibility, attract customers, and generate leads. By optimising their website with relevant keywords and high-quality content, businesses can increase their organic traffic and improve their search engine rankings.

Partnering with an SEO service company allows businesses to tap into expert knowledge and stay ahead in the competitive digital landscape. Additionally, appearing in Google Maps with a well-optimised Google Business Profile further boosts a local business’s chances of attracting local customers and standing out from the crowd. Embracing SEO and enlisting the help of professionals to manage it is a wise investment that can yield significant long-term benefits for any local business.
