I just read that Mercedes, the luxury car maker, has reinvested in it’s mobile website. In the USA it saw a 170% rise in traffic via mobile searches. I’ve no doubt that trend will continue with the new iPhone 5 now in users’ hands.
The introduction of the 4g mobile phone network with the tremendous increase in download speeds will see another huge rise in mobile searches.
From what I can see these are in addition to searches on desktops and laptops, as people find they can surf the web wherever they are.
It is even more important than ever for every business to make sure that it has a mobile-enabled website – especially if you aren’t as big as the car giant. If your site doesn’t look good on a phone you will lose business, and those visitors won’t be coming back anytime soon. Getting a mobile site up and running is not something to be delayed.
You can have a smart-phone friendly website and keep your existing existing site, assuming that you are happy with it.
We can build a specific mobile site that works alongside your current site, one that recognises which type of device is being used, and if it’s an iPhone or similar then that one is displayed.
The good news is that is needn’t cost the earth, and we always work to help maximise your ROI on our services.
