GrooveFunnels is suite of apps which includes a webpage builder (GroovePages), an online sales platform (GrooveKart and GrooveSell), a membership website platform (GrooveMember), as well as other apps which take care of the running, marketing and customer relations within your business.
In this article I’m going to focus on the webpage building aspect for blogs, business and personal websites, and ecommerce.
GroovePages vs WordPress
My team and I have worked on many different website building platforms over the years – to edit or add content for SEO purposes, and also to build and develop customer websites.
I built my first website using Netscape Composer in 2002, and have used and tested many platforms before finally going all-in with WordPress in 2010. WordPress has developed incredibly since then and we have built hundreds of websites using it. I still love it and it will take something very special for me to move away from it.
The positives around WordPress? The sheer scale of progress from the community of developers ensuring it stays at the forefront of web building platforms. Sites can look great, perform well, and once you get the hang of it it can be fun and effective to use.
The downside of WordPress? It can take some time to get sites and pages loading quickly (especially important in Google’s mobile-first indexing). At is core it is a cobbled together collection of themes and plugins, all made by different developers, and this can cause compatibility issue.
Truth be told, it’s also not the easiest platform for clients to use. Often when I hand over a completed website project I will create some tutorial videos to help my clients make edits, but it can be intimidating and confusing to someone not familiar with the backend of a WordPress website.
So, how does GroovePages compare with this? With any tool there is a learning curve, but the drag and drop features of GroovePages make creating your page easy (this is also available in many WordPress page builders, but is the default with GroovePages). The sites are blazing fast (they are by default hosted on Google servers and delivered through a CDN).
One of the features of GroovePages I am most excited about is the ability to import any webpage into the platform. I have a number of websites that I want to bring over from WordPress and I will be able to do this and with a few clicks.
Hosting is included in the GroovePages system so there are no additional charges for that.
