A recent survey done by market research company Lab42 about how people interact with companies and brands make interesting reading.
82% said that Facebook was a good place to interact with brands, and of those 35% said they felt brands listen to them more on facebook.
The biggest motivators in “Liking” and brand on Facebook are Promotions and Discounts (34%) and Free Giveaways (21%).
The number one reason for “unliking” a brand is that they post too frequently.
What this tells business owners is that it’s very worthwhile having a presence on facebook, particularly if the focus is on giving great offers to those who “Like” your page. Facebook offers a great way to interact with potential and existing customers, and to build loyalty to your company.
It isn’t important what we feel about facebook, it’s how our customers feel about it that counts – and generally they love it. With over 900 million active users it can’t be ignored.
Don’t use social media to sell things, but give your customers reasons to keep using your services.
If none of this makes sense to you, or if it seems overwhelming and you don’t know where to start, don’t worry. We can guide you and build your social media presence for you – we can even manage it for you, so you don’t have to take time away from your business.
